Seeking the Mystery of the White Earth, the Art of Nature

Beppu's White Pond Hell is the oldest of the hell tour and has been designated as a national scenic spot. The mysterious blue-white pond is like a mysterious world gushing from the depths of the earth. The wonderful color changes of the hot water eruption and cooling make one feel as if time has stopped.

Enchanted by the Tropical Fish Paradise

However, White Pond Hell has another surprise. The tropical fish aquarium, which utilizes the heat of the hot spring, exudes a retro atmosphere. With large fish from the tropics such as arapaima and piranhas, both children and adults are sure to be captivated.

Walking Path Scented with History and Culture

In addition to the tropical fish aquarium, there are numerous cultural properties, such as the Niho Minami Gado. Combined with beautiful cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, one can enjoy a leisurely stroll. You may even spot the dance of the tailed jay butterfly.

Touching Moments

With reasonable admission fees and open year-round, the park also has souvenir shops and foot baths, allowing you to relax. The

This is another smallish park. I would think the highlight of the park is the aquarium. The park itself is well manicured and it’s interesting to learn the effects of hot spring water for the water life from the park.

The Mog Champ
The Mog Champ sends his regards. The third jigoku onsen I visited, in my opinion probably the least popular and exciting one but I still had a great time walking around and it looked really green just like the surroundings! Just enjoy a nice peaceful stroll and then walk onto the next jigoku onsen! Thanks for maintaining a clean and hot spring here! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ

Decent overall. It's a greenish-white onsen with a small garden and aquarium.

The hot spring is very nice, and the garden overlooking it is good too. The "aquarium" is not good though. The tanks seem to be too small for the fish in them, and they're just concrete boxes. No sand, greenery or any kind of habitat for these animals, so it's just sad to look at. Would not recommend.

If you expect more, it could be a disappointing situation at the Shiraike Jigoku Hell. Not more to see than a nice steaming pond (don't get me wrong, it is still something special!) and an aquarium with some fish. This site would not rank the top 3 to visit of all hells.
